The mission of the Fondation Pierre Fabre, which is a public interest organisation, is to provide access to quality medicines and care for the populations of the low and middle-income countries (LMICs) or in emergency situations. Since its creation in 1999, the Fondation Pierre Fabre has financed postgraduate training (master’s, PhD) and ongoing education of many pharmacists in Africa and Asia. After supporting master's courses in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia between 2012 and 2019, it has committed itself from 2020 to support ongoing training in the form of workshops and shared research projects within the Mekong Pharma Network made up of the four universities of Hanoi (HUP), HCMC (UMP), Vientiane (UHS) and Phnom Penh (UHS).
The Fondation Pierre Fabre has chosen to support the organization of the "7th Conference of the Asian Federation for Pharmaceutical Sciences" because of its strategic importance as a place for scientific interaction and discussion for teachers and researchers in the Mekong Pharma Network, who will be able to meet up with and learn from their counterparts from other Asian countries and scientists working in the pharmaceutical industry.
